Internet Twice as Popular as TV

Every marketer knows the Internet is far more popular than any other media choice by a wide margin—twice as popular as television in recent studies*.

In a syndicated study of 10,500 respondents, 36.4% rated Internet as “can’t live without” versus 18.4% for TV and 16.3% for newspapers. In the same study, 83.5% chose Internet as their number one preference, with reality TV second at 53.5% and televised sports third at 42.6%.


Internet Remains the Least Expensive Media Choice

  • Internet advertising averages US$2.39 and CDN$3.67 per thousand people reached (CPM), according to Persona’s studies.*
  • Radio averaged US$4.54 or CDN$6.47 per thousand reached
  • Newspaper averaged US$5.50 or CDN$8.82 per thousand reached
